About Me

Jo Sung has lived, studied and performed on stage and in front of the camera from Vancouver, Seoul, New York, San Francisco and is now based in Los Angeles. He moved to Seoul after his undergrad studies at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC to embark on a basketball career. It was evident very early that he was not going to be paid for his passion to play ball. He, however, stayed in Seoul for graduate studies in International Relations at the GSIS program at Yonsei University. As a student, he was able to work as a political analyst on English television and eventually became a media personality. The height of his popularity came when he was named one of Korea’s 50 Most Eligible Bachelors by Cosmopolitan Magazine. During this time, Jo studied acting with the famed teacher/actor Jung-Eun Lee, who recently won an Oscar as part of the movie Parasite.

Jo continued his acting journey to New York where he studied at various studios such as HB Studios, Stella Adler, etc and had roles in theatre productions by the American Harlem Theatre and several other off-Broadway productions. He was also part of many independent films such as the lead in Hello, Goodbye, Clear and a highly viewed Mega-Man fan film. He also landed his first TV role on Flight of the Conchords.

Since then Jo has been in Los Angeles and is on the Netflix show Partner Track, as Yun Sang Hoon. Previously, he was seen in the last season of Hawaii Five-0 as a guest-star, Magnum PI, In Cold Blood, lead in the indie film Burn Crisis and many other roles. He still loves the theatre and was in ‘Anatomy of a Hug’ and ‘Rashomon.’

Jo is ready to be part of more stories.
